IT Chapter 2: Trailer Thoughts
by Joshua Hess
A terrifying journey back to Derry.

I want to start by saying I loved the first IT film. I thought it was darkly comedic, brilliantly shot and acted, and perfectly juxtaposed the innocence of the children's daily lives with their frightening and depressing nights. The film wanted to remind you that they are still kids, and you can only imagine what they must have gone through mentally to take on the menacing and terrifying Pennywise. The only problem that I can recall from the original is its overuse of jump scares. While the occasional jump scare can prove successful, I feel like there is definitely more than one way to send fear throughout the viewer.
Complaints aside, this trailer is freaking amazing! The music, the creepy voice over, the subtle uses of Pennywise throughout are brilliant. If this trailer doesn't give you the willies and send you into hype mode, I'm not sure what will.
